Hall of Excellence 2014

The Church College of Fiji has an assembly that honors those students that have proved worthy of high scholastic achievement! We loved the music and awards!!





Lion of the Lord was the most coveted award!

Orchid Island and Tukavesi Village

Orchid Island (not really an island) near Lami Town; once a thriving, busy cultural center that now has been abandoned. We visited with Elder and Sister Terry.



The insides remain in very good condition with all the poles wrapped and shell designs on the walls...Awesome workmanship!

On into the garden we found cages used formerly for birds and small animals; beautiful flowers; then a place where artifacts were kept. Quite remarkable that some of these things still remain!











We went back another time, a few months later, and there was another flood and the neighborhood children have destroyed a lot of the artifact area. Sad thing that it hasn't been kept up and maintained!
