A marvelous experience! We were invited as guests of Brother and Sister Singh to witness the wedding of a niece. They have everything well decorated and the women were in lovely dresses.
People were waiting in their seats for quite awhile with young men "making music" during this wait.
Outside the main hall, people were dancing with more loud music, waiting for the groom to arrive.
After the groom arrived, we watched the ceremony outside. (We were also with Elder and Sister Watling and Elder and Sister Decker.)
Then it became time for the Groom to come inside and the women to bring in the Bride. The women were carrying in gifts that were presented one by one to the bride and groom.
The costuming was quite elegant and the ceremony had rituals and meanings that we didn't understand; but a tradition among the Indians of this country. Then a feast followed---food, food, lots of food! A fun evening!
