One of Joan's desires was to meet with Sister Mariah Vuetibau, whom she had met when she and Arvin were serving their mission in Australia. They were both excited to see each other and were able to talk for over an hours time. Enjoyed each other!
We ate lunch one day at Fong Li's...a place where they have "dalo nests"! It's like a nest of thin french fries with your choice of a chow mein dish in the center....oh! yummy!! We want to learn how to make them at home.
Bau Landing (south east side of our island), a bus stop and water taxi stop to take the locals to and from their little islands into Suva. We parked our car nearby and waited for our boat ride out to Leleuvia Island. We were there about an hour; had plenty of time to visit with some local people, watch several buses come and go, help people in and out of boats, and it was actually quite fun--this little spot in the middle of nowhere!
Passing Bau Island, an all-inclusive native village, compacted bunch of people and their homes, with bure tomb on top of island where-in the ancient chief of all of Fiji lay. They have a community garden with power and water brought in from the mainland. Only accessed by boat!
Forty five minutes of water travel and we landed on Leleuvia! Bure's and lots of palm trees! Friendly people, great food at the central meeting hall, walk around the island in about twenty minutes, snorkeling, and kayaking! What could be much better than that! And the weather was absolutely beautiful the whole time!!

Eating!! The food was great! We enjoyed a breakfast bar of cereals, breads, and fruits. This is a picture of a lamb chop lunch! Breakfast! And one of their roll-ups for another lunch!

We forgot to take pictures of snorkeling; but, Ed did get some of Joan and I kayaking (?)We went all the way around the island; Ed had to walk with his as his seat broke right after the start of this trip; good walk!

We traveled back to Nadi to send Joan on her way.... some of the sights on the way....
We ate Mexican food at Mamacitas for our last lunch... Yummm!
