Firoz Family and Eid al Fitr

Our landlord family (Firoz) live in the front part of their house; we have the two-story part in the back. Such great people; are so kind to us. For this past month, they have been fasting as part of the Ramadan--they are Muslim. Then on the last day when they broke the fast (Eid al Fitr), they invited many friends to come join them in a feast. They spend a couple days visiting each others' homes. They dress in lovely dresses, special for the occasion! and the food is quite good! It was a fun evening!

Social Science Week at the College!

At the Fiji Church College, they have week long events celebrating a certain idea...this week it was Social Science--all kinds of programs were held during the week and then on Friday, there was an "all together" activity on the playing field.

Kite Flying Competition:

The students made their own kites as teams or individuals and then they had to get them into the air! This was the winner!!

Weaving:

There was also some coconut breaking and shredding; and goal shoots. Didn't get pictures of all the events as we were judging the kite flying most of the time!

Cake Decorating:

Then the assembly: "I Have a Rich Heritage":

Students dressed in native costume and presented a play....fun moments! The Solomone family visited this day (remember, he was the Principal of the College when we first arrived).

And we all enjoyed!!
